I'm a science writer and editor based in Eugene, Oregon.

I specialize in taking technical research and sharing it in a clear and engaging way, whether the topic is cancer immunotherapy or crab evolution.

Previously, I wrote about neuroscience, cell biology, and cool new scientific tools for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. I also spent nearly three years as a general assignment reporter at Science News magazine, where I published a viral story about wombat poop.

I’m a graduate of the UC Santa Cruz Science Communication Program and have a bachelor’s degree in biology from Williams College. When I'm not at my desk, you'll probably find me exploring my local trails or knitting at my neighborhood coffee shop.
